Today our website and crowdfunding campaign launched!
We have been working hard the past month on founding the Ropes of Hope and are thrilled with the progress we have made. Our journey started with an intensive coral restoration course funded by two island lodges in the Mafia archipelago, Tanzania, Chole Mjini Tree House Lodge and Thanda Private Marine Resort. During this course, an international group of ocean lovers came together to learn more about coral propagation and regeneration and to build our first coral nursery and The Ropes of Hopes was born as a result. Our goal is to build 25 nurseries, conserving 100,000 corals over the next five years. We are proud to announce that our first rope nursery already nurtures more than 1,800 fragments of opportunity and we are adding on average 1200 fragments a week!!
Although we are moving ahead, but we cannot do this alone. To help us keep going, we launched our GoFundMe campaign today! Every rope we fill in our nurseries conserves more biodiversity and thus contributes to a healthier ocean and makes future research on corals easier.
Dream big with us! Let’s save our corals! Asante sana. Thank you.
