Last week we were fortunate enough to spend 3 days in paradise at Thanda Island private Marine Reserve, helping them to outplant corals from their nursery. I last visited Shungu Mbili island, where Thanda is based, and I must say that tremendous progress has already been made on regenerating the reef system around the island which had suffered years of unsustainable fishing. Shungu Mbili is now a part of a newly proclaimed Marine protected Area and Thanda are leading the conservation and regeneration efforts, together with the Marine Parks and Reserves Unit of Tanzania.
