Masanja has a diploma in Fisheries Science and studied Aquaculture at the Sokoine University of Agriculture. Furthermore, Masanja has 15 years of experience in the Fisheries and Aquaculture related fields. He has experience with Fisheries Management, with gender-sensitive value chain development and has worked for 6 years as a fisheries officer at Ifakara Town Council.
Masanja is currently working as a Marine Conservation Warden at Marine Parks and Reserves, based at Mafia Island Marine Park.
